ABOUT US
Set up in 1986, and registered under the Cooperative Societies Act 1925, the Pakistan Education Foundation (PEF) is the first of its type in the field of education and training. It is a voluntary organization instituted for the benefit and welfare of people connected with education. The main purpose of this organization is to generate, harmonize and streamline efforts for the professional uplift of people concerned with education and to organize professional, welfare and other constructive activities for their benefit. The beneficiaries of its activities include students, teachers, principals, administrators and organizations associated with education sector.

OUR SERVICES
Scholarships
PEF awards stipends to the poor and deserving students, including orphans. So far 270 donors/sponsors have awarded stipends to the over 350 needy students.
Free Medical Camps
PEF arranges free medical camps in low-income territories of Islamabad.
Most of the free medical camps were in the areas of F-6/2 in Mr. Ayyub's Kiran Centre.
Professional Courses
Every year, our foundation arranges summer courses for students. These courses not only benefit students but also grant the teachers a chance to enhance their competency.
Educational Exhibitions
PEF has been organizing scientific and educational exhibition to promote co-curricular activities arrange the boys and girls of various private and public schools.
KIRAN CENTRES
“Kiran” means a “ray of light”. PEF along-with other welfare programmes is also sponsoring several Kiran Centres in disadvantage communities where formal school facilities are either nonaviable or inadequate. These Kiran Centres are generally run by higher students (tutors) who themselves are doing their FA, BA, B.Ed or MA level studies. These tutors teach groups of 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more deprived students in the evening at their places or some nearby schools. Presently more than 1000 students are benefiting for the 20 Kiran Centres which are presently operating mostly in the far-flung rural backward areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

ORG STRUCTURE
Supreme Council
The Supreme Council is the highest apex authority of the Foundation. It consists of 50 members out of whom 25 are lifelong members and 25 are tenure based members. The basic members are those 25 members who joined the Foundation in 1986, while the tenure members are elected after every two years on the basis of elections held on provincial basis/area basis. In the case of death or resignation of a basic (lifelong) members, a new member is elected/selected ad per criteria approval by the Supreme Council.

Provincial Advisory Councils
A Provincial/Regional Advisory Council is constituted in each province, AJK and Federal areas. Provincial/Regional Advisory Council comprises those members from the concerned province/region who represent PEF members residing in that province/region in the Supreme Council.
